Chemical Peels

Peeling removes old and damaged skin cells together with impurities deep in the pores. The treatment stimulates the skin regeneration resulting in smoother skin with more shine.

The peels offered at The Aesthetic Institute have significantly greater effect than those that may be sold in shops or used in most beauty salons. Therefore, they may only be administered under the care of the clinic's doctors and specially-trained beauticians. At the Aesthetic Institute we offer two different types of peel.

The AK Peel

This treatment is offered to patients who have skin problems such as sun damage, hyper-pigmentation, hyper-sensitivity, thin skin, acne and acne tendency. It is also recommended before and after such facelifts to maintain the result over time.

The AK Peel is a 21% strength glycolic acid peel, which strips away the top layer of dead skin cells. It freshens/brightens the skin, improving lustre and clarity. It doesn't remove layers of the epidermis and cause severe redness, burning, shedding and flaking of the skin for days afterwards. In fact, it is referred to as a lunchtime peel. If you wish, you can reapply makeup afterwards and head back to work without anyone noticing!

AK Peels are performed at The Aesthetic Institute by our specially-trained skincare adviser. Most people find a series of treatments gives the best results.

The TCA Peel

This treatment is an appropriate method for reducing wrinkles, scars, uneven skin texture and uneven pigmentation. Trychloroacetic acid peels are usually done under general anesthetic as they remove layers of the epidermis. They require at least a week of convalescence, but one treatment can often be enough for a good result.
