AK SKIN PEEL
A skin peel removes old and damaged skin cells along with deep impurities that clog up the pores. The treatment stimulates the new skin to grow which gives skin a smoother feel and glowing look. The Akademikliniken Peel has significantly more power than the products that can be sold in shops or offered in most beauty salons. Therefore, it must only be handled under the responsibility of the clinic’s doctors and specialist trained beauticians.
Using Alpha Hydroxy Acids(AHA’s), which are concentrated fruit, milk and sugar acids, it actively dissolves the outer layer of skin. AHA treatment is aimed at patients who have skin problems such as sun damage, hyperpigmentation, hypersensitivity, thin skin, acne and acne tendency. It also promotes underlying collagen regeneration. It doesn’t remove layers of the epidermis or cause severe redness, burning, shedding or flaking of the skin for days afterwards. In fact, it is referred to as a lunchtime peel! You can also reapply makeup afterwards and head back to work without anyone noticing.
We recommend having a peel every 4-6 weeks – any more would be too much for the skin and may cause sensitivity. To achieve the best results, we also recommend that following, and in-between your peels, you combine AHA treatment with the series of skin care products that Akademikliniken have developed. The product line is based on biological principles and medical experience, and is composed of both traditional and medical skin care products. Our Skin Care Advisers will diagnosis and establish an individualised treatment plan that fits your needs and desires.
The AK peel is offered as a stand-alone treatment, or in conjunction with other treatments. It is also recommended to have the peel before and after any facial surgery such as a facelift. This keeps the skin looking fresh and youthful.
