TCA (Trichloracetic Acid)
As we are affiliated with the Akademikliniken in Sweden, we carry their fantastic product range here in our clinic. The famous AK Peel is sometimes called the “lunchtime” peel as there are few visible side effects immediately afterwards. There are no side effects such as redness, burning, shedding or flaking of the skin with this facial peel. It is an excellent treatment for sun damage skin, or for problems such as hyper pigmentation, hypersensitivity, thin skin, acne or acne tendency. For best results we recommend that you use the Akademikliniken skincare products following, and in-between your peels. The AK Chemical Peels are offered as a stand-alone treatment or can be done in conjunction with other treatments.
The AK Chemical Facial Peels
The AK Peel consists of a mixture of glycolic, lactic and salicylic acid, which when used regularly, results in a visible improvement in fine lines, hyperpigmentation, sun damage and acne breakouts.
The AK Chemical Peel is a 21% strength glycolic acid peel which strips away the top layer of dead skin cells, leaving your skin fresher and brighter, improving lustre and clarity. It also promotes underlying collagen regeneration. It doesn't remove layers of the epidermis or cause severe redness, burning, shedding and flaking of the skin for days afterwards. In fact, it is referred to as a lunchtime peel – if you wish, you can reapply makeup afterwards and head back to work without anyone noticing!
We recommend that peels are performed every 4-6 weeks – any more would be too much for the skin and may cause sensitivity. For optimum results, we recommend that you use the Akademikliniken skincare products following, and in-between your facial peels. The AK peel is offered as a stand-alone treatment or can be done in conjunction with other treatments.
